    Music gets better.

The music I listen to now is better than the music I listened to when I was younger.

Here are some things people say:

    • It's not as good as in MY day.
    • That is SO derivative! It just sounds like X mixed with Y with Z singing
    • Why listen to that? Listen to X - they started it all.

    Here's how science works:

    • Scientist has new theory
    • Tests new theory
    • Theory is a success. Theory becomes popular
    • New scientist comes along
    • Adapts theory, builds on theory, combines other theories.
    • Theory is improved. New theory becomes popular.

Derivation is evolution. You don't have to start at point A when we already have point B. Start at B. When we invented television we didn't have to invent the photograph again.

    We improve as we derive.
